Dear Friends,

I decided to run for House District 47 because we need a representative with entrepreneurial experience who understands the impact of regulation, taxation and litigation on small businesses. Our current representative, liberal Valinda Bolton, sees government through the eyes of those who receive subsidies, with little concern for those who pay taxes. I will be a champion for taxpayers trying to make ends meet, save for the future, and create opportunity for our children.

I started a commercial construction business from scratch in 1991. During hard economic times, I picked up a shovel and moved dirt alongside my employees, making the kind of sacrifices necessary to build a successful company that has employed hundreds of Central Texans. I'm not afraid of hard work and that's what it will take at the Capitol to rein in wasteful spending, limit property appraisal increases that are pricing people out of their homes, and address traffic gridlock that has only worsened under the incumbent's lack of leadership.

I am ready to put my real world experience, values and vision for Travis County to work. I would greatly appreciate your vote on November 2nd, and I look forward to seeing you along the campaign trail.

Thank you and God Bless Texas,

Paul D. Workman
