In that time Paul has built Workman Corporation (now Workman Commercial) into a statewide construction company performing upwards of $70 million dollars in volume a year. In 2007 Paul began the transfer of the company to the next generation.

As a member of the board and later President of the AGC–Texas Building Branch, Paul was involved in the legislative process including drafting legislation, testifying before legislative committees and working to pass or kill legislation. He was heavily involved in the indemnification legislation put forth by a coalition of AGC, Texas Construction Association and Texas Civil Justice League.
